Carmen Media Group Company History

The Carmen Media Group is a global gaming and entertainment group. It was formed in 2002 out of the Demmy Group of companies. Carmen Media Group is incorporated in Gibraltar, and licensed from Gibraltar to operate casinos, sportsbooks and multiplayer poker in the online domain.

The Carmen Media Group is owned by Chairman Tim Johnson, and through him can trace its heritage and experience across some 70 years of legalized betting in the United Kingdom through The Demmy Group.

Tim is a fourth generation bookmaker and has been involved in the gambling industry for as long as he can remember. Having built up and sold 3 chains of UK betting shops under the Demmy Group, and then moved the business offshore and online, he is well placed to understand how to successfully lead fast changing gambling businesses.

During 2001 he realized that the online gaming industry was reaching saturation point. It was with this in mind that he set up the Carmen Media Group, supported with a strategic acquisition plan to ensure a dominant position at the very top of the industry, with correspondingly strong growth for the company during the consolidation of this sector.

In March 2004 the Carmen Media Group linked seven of its flagship online casinos and three multi-player poker rooms into one new online gaming super-group, Belle Rock Entertainment.  Belle Rock includes two of the world's most successful and longest established online gaming operations.  The creation of Belle Rock has resulted in benefits for players such as group promotions and prizes in addition to casino specific ones.
